RSS Information
What does it mean when you see the little RSS image on a web site?
RSS, which stands for "Really Simple Syndication" Is a new technique to deliver articles and newsletters to your desktop without email. It allows you to check for new and updated information automatically on the web sites that you are interested in.
All you need is a small piece of software called an RSS Reader, and there are many available, some of which are free. After you install the reader, you can subscribe to the feeds, or "channels", from the web sites of your choice. All sorts of news, sports and information is available via RSS.
Here at Daily Gratitude we recommend a free RSS reader that is available from Wizz Computers and installs in the free Firefox web browser. We like Firefox because we're tired of dealing with the security problems in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Over 25 million people have already downloaded the Firefox browser, available from Mozilla.org. We use it and we love it!
There are plenty of options for RSS readers, no matter what browser or operating system you use. For an extensive list of RSS readers, go to: http://www.rssfeeds.com/readers.php.
The URL to access the Daily Gratitude RSS feed is:
http://www.dailygratitude.com/gratitude.xml
Place the mouse arrow on the above RSS pictogram or hyperlink, and click the left mouse button, then "drag" the link with the mouse to your RSS Reader and drop in the appropriate place where you add a new feed. You're done!
Please don't write to us for more help understanding RSS. Instead, do a search on Google or your favorite search engine and you'll find plenty of information. We hear this is the wave of the future online. I guess time will tell. If you're using RSS, let us know if you find our feed useful.
Thanks,
Wes
