Many of you have asked about this guy Wallace
Wattles that I quote in the Gratitude ebook. Your
chance to find out all about him is coming up with
"The 21st Century Science of Getting Rich"
starting October 3rd. We've made special efforts to
accommodate our friends in the UK, Australia and
New Zealand, too. Get all the details at

Today we have an article on how to use the Law of
Polarity (or, Opposites) in your gratitude practice. I think
you'll find this very useful.
**************************************************************
"Consciously make a decision to stop saying what you
don't want and start saying what you do want. Instead of
'What if it doesn't work out?', say 'What if it does work
out?'" -- Jim Rohn
One of the most valuable of the universal laws to apply in
your life is the Law of Polarity. Also called the Law of
Opposites, I think the name comes from the idea that for
every North Pole, there's a South Pole.
In our lives it shows up in the way we look at events or
circumstances. The Law says that everything that
happens "just is" and it's neither good nor bad until we
assign a meaning to it. The Law also says that everything
has two polar opposites - for everything bad we can
find, there is an equal and opposite amount of good.
So we encounter some circumstance and our mind might
immediately tell us, "That's awful!" because it looks bad,
but we are actually making a choice to only see that side
of it. With practice, we can always find the good. It may
not be in the event itself, but it may be in some outcome or
unexpected consequence of the event.
For a simple example, I saw a report of flooding on TV
recently in which a woman was trapped in a car that was
being carried down a raging river. Nothing very good about
that, I think we can all agree.
What I noticed, though, was that people had banded
together for a rescue effort and that about 20 people
who didn't know each other or the lady were risking
their lives to get her out. It was a real testimony to the
human spirit, and that was good.
15 years ago I went through a very painful divorce. It
sure looked bad at the time, but it motivated me to
make changes in myself and out of the ashes of that
situation came things that are very, very good today.
We want to apply the Law of Polarity in every situation
to help us find the good, so that we can be grateful.
The more we focus on the good, the more we find
ourselves focusing on what we want, instead of what we
don't want.
We know that what we focus on, grows. Our popular
culture teaches us to look for the crisis and play the
game of "Ain't it awful!" If we do, we'll get lots of awful
to deal with, and little to be thankful for.
What do you have in your life today that you think is
bad? What do you find yourself complaining about and
looking for sympathy about? How can you reframe that
to find some good to be thankful for?
Well? Did you find it?
Focus on what you want. Look for the good and be
thankful. Gratitude keeps the good things flowing in
your direction and keeps you connected to the Source
of good things.
And that's good.
Have a great month. I am grateful for each and
every one of you!
Peace and love,
Wes
