The Power Of Intention
Welcome to all our new subscribers! In the last month
we've had hundreds of people download the Gratitude
ebook, and I want to welcome you all to our newsletter.
We've completed our move and have lots to be grateful
for, so today I want to talk about the power of intention.
Dr Wayne Dyer has a powerful book by that title, and in
the movie, "What The Bleep" Dr Joe Dispenza created
quite a stir with his comments on "intending your day."
Here's the choice that we all have, all the time. We can
wait to see what life serves up to us, and then respond
to it, or we can decide in advance how we would like it
to be, and intend it.
Intention is not only a process, but according to Dyer it
is a force that permeates the entire universe. When we
get clear about what we want and deliberately intend,
we tap that force.
Does this mean that we will always get exactly what we
want, and nothing else? No, but the shift in what we do
get can be astonishing. It tips the odds in a powerful way.
In our move from Kansas City to the White Mountains of
Arizona last month (about 1200 miles) my wife and I were
concerned about the weather. The US was being battered
by severe winter storms that affected our route, with snow,
freezing rain and generally wretched driving conditions.
So we deliberately intended what we wanted - dry, clear
roads, sunshine, great places to stay, smooth and
speedy travel. We wrote it down and said "OK, God,
this is our order."
So what happened? The week before we left a big storm
swept across the country wreaking havoc everywhere.
Then it cleared. We had 5 days of good weather to load,
travel and unload. Then the next storm arrived. We had no
snow or ice on the roads even crossing the Rocky
Mountains east of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Coincidence? Perhaps, but I like to credit the power of
intention. Remember that the first principle in the power
of gratitude is that we live in a friendly universe. I believe
that and I trust that. We do have to get clear about what
want, though. That's intention. Then we can be grateful
for whatever shows up, knowing that there is always
something to be grateful for.
The clearer we get, and the more continuously grateful
we are, the better the process works!
After all, intention is a force, so may the Force
be with you!
